Well.. we officially have two teenagers in the house. (send ALL the wine you can) Just like that they are spending the majority of their time behind their bedroom doors imbedded on their phones and netflix throwing me a half patted hug and a mini conversation every few days. This is why wine and my alexa
sort of are my best friends these days. Any who, for Lola’s birthday this year I was a little in the dog house. You see her birthday always falls during school vacation AND during the end of her competitive gymnastics season. So when you practice 5 days a week AND have meets on the weekends finding a time to give her a little party is next to impossible. Since last year, her states fell on her birthday we were so crazy that she didn’t get an actually birthday party with friends. Que the “I haven’t lived this down” since teen attitude. So, having a party this year was a must. But then you add me hosting my entire family for Easter the week before and traveling to her MEGA Regional Meet on her actual birthday, I was instantly thrown back into the “this might not happen” mode right before her birthday. So I scrambled to throw a little party together on her only day off for a few hours before we left for her meet the following day. Throwing parties is one of my favorite things to do. As a lot of you know, my old blog used to be a party blog. Any excuse to have a party is my favorite and this was no exception. I feel like we have done every party in the books for a girl so when I thought of her love for Victoria’s Secret Pink, it was the perfect theme. I also designed all the printables you see here today and I’m giving them all away to you free! A super easy way to recreate this entire look and give your teen girl the perfect party. But I’m not even going to lie, all of my girlfriends would love this party too. Who doesn’t Love VS PINK? Although I may be getting laughed at as I walk around Target rocking one of their sweatshirts trying to hold onto my youth, but I don’t care. It’s comfy and cute! So come soak up this inspiration and find all the details and printables below!
I kept the table super simple with there only being a few girls. Cupcakes and Cookies were the main desserts and I used the same table to display their favors.
Instead of doing a favor bag filled with stuff they probably wouldn’t use, I just hit up VS Pink and got them each a body splash which they loved. I asked for an individual bag for each one so they could take a bag home with them.
For the cupcakes, I always love to add a little tag to tie the theme in. I cut a few inches off a regular paper straw and hot glue or tape the tag to it. Place it into the cupcake and it’s instantly enhanced. I make my own cupcakes using my favorite buttercream frosting recipe.
Adding a little sticker to a bag gives it the custom look. I simply added the sticker and punched two holes at the top after folding it over. I then added a little ribbon to finish it off. The girls took home a cupcake and cookie as well in these bags.
How adorable are these cookies?? Almost too cute to eat!
For the backdrop, I just picked up some fabric from my local Jo Ann Fabrics and placed it on the wall.
I wanted to keep the eating area very simple. The girls would be making slime, DIY lip scrubs and doing face masks so I wanted everything to be thrown right away after the big mess.
To jazz up the table setting, I make a large circle to place in the plate until the girls were ready to eat. Then I finished off the area with tied silverware, straw tag and name tag.
Pink and cotton candy go hand in hand so I gave each girl a little bowl full. (don’t worry I fed them strawberries too, haha!) I used the same sticker I created for the straws and put them on toothpicks as well.
I didn’t have time to pick up and fresh flowers or really give much thought to the centerpiece at all. I had an extra bag on hand and a bunch of faux flowers in my bedroom. I created the simplest centerpiece ever but they didn’t seem to mind. Perfect little touch to finish off the space.
The calm before the storm. This table was an absolute disaster by the end of the evening. A happy disaster, though 🙂
I hope you enjoyed and took away some inspiration for your next party! xo!
