Good Morning!! I did a poll on my Facebook page yesterday asking which one people wanted to see.. my kitchen reveal or my outdoor space!… Kitchen won by a slightly margin but don’t worry, I’ll blog my outdoor space as well as soon as I can as there was a lot of interest in seeing that. I have a few 4th of July posts coming to you as well next week!
I started my kitchen update project months ago! It’s been a slightly painful process getting everything done quickly but for now we are in a perfect place. I still do need a few tweaks but I’m absolutely loving the brightness that it now has. This wasn’t a full kitchen renovation, I’ve just been wanting to change my cabinets and backsplash forever and finally won the battle with the hubs. Why do they have to disagree with us? Happy wife, happy life right? Just give me my white cabinets!! So instead of spending a ton of money on brand new cabinets, I had them painted! I know a lot of people are skeptical about painting cabinets, especially dark ones. I’m here to report that I’ve lived with them for a couple of months painted now and I couldn’t love them more. They are holding up perfectly and are life changing to this space given the size to my kitchen. It’s so much brighter and seems a lot bigger. And with the white herringbone backsplash, I’m fully in love. I was a little worried that I wasn’t going to love my granite with the updates because it’s just not in the budget to get all new granite at this time. Happy to say it looks great in there and will keep as long as I can! Baby steps.. 🙂
Let me remind you of how the kitchen looked before..
And here are couple in the process…
Pretty big difference, huh? I absolutely love how it turned out. I spend so much time in this kitchen and it’s so easy to do so now!
If you see in the before pictures, my backsplash only went up to the windowsill. This time I had it placed all the way up to the ceiling which I love. It’s a nice statement when someone walks in.
It’s night and day in here now! So much brighter and makes me happy!
I like to keep my counters super clean. We are currently turning our back mud room into a butlers pantry where I’ll be storing lots of my appliances. Its right off the kitchen so it will be a very useful for my small space. I’ll definitely be sharing that within a couple of months once it’s completed.
I kept the pendant lights that I installed when we moved in. They are such a nice contrast now with the white. I love these!
I hope you guys enjoyed!! I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of this kitchen with me working away in here! If you have any questions, just comment below! xo!
