Hi! I hope everyone is enjoying the Fall weather! I totally cracked last night and turned the heat on! It’s starting to get chilly! Today, I thought I’d share with you some of the exterior of my home and how I’ve decorated for fall, and also give you a look into my outdoor living space. I’m not an overly big inside fall decorator. (Christmas is another story, and I can’t wait to share that in the next couple of months) So during the fall, I love to decorate outside with a bunch of pumpkins and mums. We recently went Apple picking in which they had a great pumpkin patch. I definitely went a little pumpkin happy! (oops) But in my defense, I do have a couple of porches and my back deck, so I needed a lot to cover all areas. And I know in a couple of weeks we will be busy making toasted pumpkins seeds and carving pumpkins, so I know they wont go to waste!
I love my porches. Most weekend mornings, I sit outside and have my coffee on my front porch. It’s so peaceful and nice out there. I also love being able to decorate them which is great for the holidays.
Come take a look…
My back deck is my little sanctuary. Seeing how we live in a relatively small house, I really wanted this outside space to feel like another room. In the months that we can use it, we are always out there! It’s a great extension off the house and it gets a lot of use in the nicer months! The upper deck is our bar area where we used the old wood from the deck to reclaim and make a bar out of. We added a great piece of granite to the top to give it a real bar feel. It’s great spot to have a drink, eat dinner or just hang out. It’s also nice if we have a lot of people over, some people can sit up at the bar and look down over the lower deck. I use the buffet to display all drinks and food. It’s also great to have a spot outside where I can store some outdoor drinkware and grill accessories.
The lower deck is my favorite spot. Most summer and fall nights we are outside with a fire and the lights on. If you don’t have one of these fireplaces, they are a MUST. It’s a propane fireplace so it’s easy to turn on and off! I dont’ know what I’d do without it, it’s amazing! My couches are so comfortable! Like I said, I really wanted this space to feel like another living room. These couches and chair really give off that feel that you’re in a living room space. Also, for outdoor furniture, these are amazing! They are sunbrella fabric which is nice for any spills. I’ve taken many naps on them, because they are that comfortable! Lastly, I have a couple stands of Globe string lights that hang above the back deck which I love at night! It’s the perfect amount of light with the fire.
I hope you enjoyed the space! Looking forward to sharing lots more with you soon!
