Good Morning! I absolutely love what I have to show you today! I recently had the pleasure of meeting with a teenager who had a clear vision of the room she dreamed of for her makeover and needed a little help pulling it all together. I love working with kids because they are perfectly honest and know what they want. Together, we came out with the most beautiful room and I secretly wish this was my room because it’s so chic and glamorous. Come take a little stroll thru the before and after pictures..
As you can see the wall were a very young girls type of color so we really wanted to change that out and bring in some sophistication as she’s gotten older. Also, the rug needed to be replaced which instantly made the room appear larger given how dark the before rug was.
I love the chair rail in this room so that was staying for sure! The detail was perfect on it and I knew once we changed out the paint and rug, the chair rail would really pop.
How chic and grown up is this room now? It’s absolutely so dreamy and I’m totally swooning over it. I love the detailing with chose in the rug and adding some wallpaper for an accent wall really made the room come together.
Adding a mirrored nightstand and fun chandelier instantly brought in the glamorous vibe to the space and fit for any princess. I love these nightstands so much, I’m considering them for my own room. Because she wanted a bit of the glam feel, I wanted to have the headboard be a statement piece and I found the perfect one that was subtle, yet still had the glamorous detailing. It’s a stunner in person.
I kept the original shelving that was in the room before and accented it with some little age appropriate details.
She knew she wanted a Prada sign somewhere in her room and I found the perfect one to go along with the accent wall. This art piece perfectly ties the entire room together and is perfect above the dresser. The dresser had some knobs that were a little dull given the look we were going for, so I swapped them out for some crystal types ones which fit much better.
I accented her dresser with all her favorite perfumes and jewelry. Less is more, so I really kept it simple which is great for kids to help them stay clean and organized.
The black shade chandelier really pulls of the marble look off the wallpaper and still has the crystals hanging down without have the whole light piece be a full crystal chandelier.
See? I told you the headboard was a stunner…. sigh. SWOON.
I hope you love this room as much as I do! And if you have a teen girl, this may be exactly what she is looking for. All the details are below and you can avoid the arguing with a teenager while trying to makeover their room. You’re welcome. Comment below if you have a any questions. Have a great day!
