I’m back with part 2 of this amazing kitchen/living room renovation. If you missed yesterdays post, be sure to check that out here. I absolutely love how this living room turned out. Before it had oversized furniture and a large sectional so we decided to make it much more open and airy for this space. When people have large rooms they automatically think they need to put a sectional and thats not always the case. Because this room is right off of the kitchen and eating table I really wanted it to flow better and not divide up the space with a big sectional backed right up to that space. Instead we opted for a gorgeous couch and added three chairs into the room. This way you are still getting enough seating for guests while opening up the space and being able to bring in some nice end tables and accents. Also, I really wanted to get rid of the oversized entertainment center and create a much less crowded space and bringing in the farmhouse vibes. We’ve all seen the Joanna Gaines farmhouse trends and colors she uses and what I love about this room is that we added those cool tunes with the blues yet still brought farmhouse elements into the space giving it a more chic farmhouse feel. Come take a look at the before and after.. it’s beautiful! 🙂
I absolutely love how this whole area looks now! The console cabinet is the focal point and it fits in perfectly with out farmhouse feel. As you can see I left curtains off of these windows because of the detailing they had above them. I didn’t want to cover them up with the curtains, so leaving them with just a blind to pull down really draws your attention to them now and how beautiful they are.
I love shopping for farmhouse accents! Think wired baskets, mason jar look a like glass, lots of textured pillows, blankets, and greenery.
Isn’t this couch dreamy? I absolutely LOOOOVE the fabric we picked and the chic modern feel this brings into the space.
Adding layers onto your coffee table brings lots of texture to the space. I always use some type of baskets underneath for storage because you can easily coordinate with your look. Adding a rustic tray added to the farmhouse feel.
Ohhh Hi Jo! You can’t have a farmhouse living room and not have the queen on the table.
This was a big wall so I wanted to really fill it in. Thats why I used the shelves on both sides and then the clock on top. It completes the space without being too crowded and I used the natural floating shelves to not wash the entire room out with white and gray and keeping that rustic element in there a bit.
I absolutely love these HOME blocks by Rustic Marlin. They are so fantastic with any request I have and their products speak for themselves!
Adding extra pillows and blankets in baskets is a perfect way to add some warm and coziness to a space. Don’t be afraid to add different colors and textures into a space. Everything doesn’t have to match perfectly.
Crushing hard on these lights. 🙂
I could get used to this view from my kitchen sink, how about you?! I hope you loved this makeover and found some inspiration here to day! XO!
