Happy December 1st!! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I can’t believe we are already in the swing of the holidays! I feel so accomplished already! I have my house fully decorated and 80% of my Christmas shopping done! I hope to really just enjoy this month! Today I’m letting you in on a little family recipe secret. These delicious seasoned oyster crackers have been being made in my family for as long as I can remember. My mom received the recipe so long ago and always made them around Christmastime. You can totally make them year round, but we always have only done them around the Holidays. I look forward to them every year and can eat more in one sitting than I’d like to admit. You will too…. just wait.
The ingredients are super simple and easy!!
Ok get all of your ingredients out and ready! For this recipe you will need: 1 Bag of Oyster Crackers, Peanut Oil, Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Dry Packet, Garlic Powder and Dill seasoning.
Step one is to mix the peanut oil and hidden valley ranch packet together.
Then I add my dill and garlic powder and mix all together.
Ok, now add the oyster crackers and mix together. And keep mixing nice and easy. I can’t stress enough that the more you mix together, the more coating gets on the crackers and the better they taste. I slowly mix for a good few minutes.
I mean…. How good do they already look? Salivating! Spread them out on a non greased baking sheet. Then back for 20 minutes at 200 degrees.
And there they are, perfectly toasted to perfection! They are deadly so be careful. Like potato chips, once you have one you can’t stop. These are perfect to bring to any party you are attending as a hostess gift or perfect for a co-worker. I love to package them up in cellophane bags with ribbon and a tag. Or you can use a decorative tin can and fill them up. The packaging options are endless. I keep them on my counter throughout the season in a glass jar canister. They don’t last long and I’m always baking more. I hope you enjoy them and they bring you as much joy as they do to my family. It’s a wonderful holiday tradition. I hope everyone enjoys the holiday season. I’ll be sharing my Christmas home tour with you next week! If you’d like to see anything specific on the blog, just comment below!
