A charcuterie board is one of my go to appetizers to put out when I’m hosting people in my home. With the variety of items on the board, it’s usually always a crowd pleaser. There are also so many different variations you can create when making one of these boards so it’s easy to put together. It can get a little expensive, but if you have this as your main appetizer it will be worth it!
Here is what I get to build my charcuterie board…
3 TYPES OF CHEESE.. I usually always go with a sharp cheddar, a spicy jalepeno cheese, and a soft bree cheese.
MEATS… I will always have a couple types of salami, prosciutto, and pepperoni.
HONEY SPREAD.. I’ve recently started adding a honey spread to my boards and I love it so much. It really does enhance the entire bite.
OLIVES.. I’ll always have a spot for a few olives on the board. Here I used Stuffed olives, but you can use any type you’d like!
CRACKERS/BREAD.. I’ll always have a lot of crackers on hand, and sometimes I’ll even cut up bread into cubes to serve.
CRANBERRY SALSA.. I love to have a dip of some sort on the board and will serve pita chips on the side. See Recipe Below.
FRUIT & NUTS.. this is where I’ll tie in the whole Christmas theme or whatever theme I want during the time of year. I added in the colors of Christmas using green grapes and red pomegranates. Then I added the candied walnuts for a nice crunchy Christmas touch.
CRANBERRY SALSA RECIPE
1 bag of fresh cranberries
1 tbsp orange zest
2 jalapenos, seeded and chopped
1/2 cup of sliced green onions
1/2 tbsp of lime juice
1/2 cup of raw sugar
1/4 tsp salt
- Using a blender or food processor, pulse together the cranberries, orange zest, jalapenos, and green onions.
- Put into a bowl and add in the lime juice, sugar and salt. Chill in the fridge for at least two hours to let all the flavors marinate together.
- Serve with chips or crackers
I hope you guys enjoyed and found some inspiration for your next hosting event! You can’t go wrong serving up this at your next party! I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season so far!
