Happy Friday! Wow, does anyone else feel like Christmas is coming at us at a rapid speed? I need it to slow down so I can enjoy it a little bit more! Every day and evening is filled up and I haven’t watch nearly enough Christmas movies yet! Today I wanted to show you how to create you own fresh flower Christmas centerpiece. You can always buy a centerpiece at a local florist, but I always think they are way overpriced and don’t usually use the flowers that I love. I recently headed to my local Trader Joes to pick up a bunch of fresh flowers! Throughout the year I’m always at Trader Joes buying them out of all their hydrangeas; they’re my go to place for flowers. I think I spent about $35 on these flowers for this arrangement. Come see a step by step tutorial on how to recreate this for your Christmas table.
I started with a bunch of fresh greenery, hydrangeas and roses. Instead of using a vase, I used a deep serving bowl. I really wanted to create that drape over look with my greenery so having the height of depth of the bowl was important. You don’t always need to use a vase. Get creative and use what you have.
I started by placing my fresh greenery around the bowl. I did not fill the bowl with water yet. I’ll do that later in the tutorial as the centerpiece starts to come together.
Once you have your greenery in place, cut and start adding in the hydrangeas. You guys know how much I love hydrangeas. They are the perfect size flower for any centerpiece because they really take up a lot of space and you don’t have to use a ton of them.
Once I added in my hydrangeas I started adding in the roses. Wow, I forgot how much I love red roses. I need to start buying these more!
I grouped my roses around the centerpiece to fill it all out. Once I have the centerpiece 75% complete, I’ll add the water in. This way the centerpiece has enough flowers to hold together so when I had the water it wont shift.
Once the water is in, keep adding the remaining roses to the centerpiece.
Gently add as many as you can to really create a grand floral arrangement.
My greenery pack came with some cranberry stems and holly which I cut and added around the centerpiece at the end.
TA-DA! There it is ready to go on the my table. See how easy that was? You can totally create this one your own and really enhance your table!
See how large it is too? You’d pay so much money for this size centerpiece at a florist. I absolutely loved how it turned out and encourage you to give it a try yourselves! You’re guests will love it! I hope you found a little inspiration here today! Please send me pictures if you try to recreate this fresh flower Christmas Centerpiece! I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas season!
