Isn’t it crazy how on Friday’s everyone is just in a good mood? Everyone has a little extra pep in their step and it makes for such an enjoyable day! I absolutely love what I have to show you today. A recent living room makeover project just came to life and I’m happy to share it with you. I met with the sweetest client back in June and we’ve been designing and planning this room for the past few months, mostly waiting for the custom furniture to arrive in. She really wanted to add some color and brighten the space up keeping it very functional having two small children. Her old room was filled with black leather couches, a dark rug and some over cluttered shelving so we really wanted to change all of that out. Come take a look at these before and after pictures..
Voila! The instant color change to this room makes for such an inviting space, I couldn’t love it more! It has a very chic, modern vibe to it which makes it even more dreamy. My client really needed recliners in this room so we were able to find a couch and chairs that didn’t have that recliner “look” and were able to go with a much more modern fit for the space. Can you believe those chairs recline too?
Fresh paint was a must to really bring this room back to life and give it some brightness. I tell people all the time that paint is your best friend because it’s inexpensive and can really change an entire look. If you don’t have the funds to makeover an entire room, start with paint and you’ll see what a difference just that does.
The before bookshelves were packed with books and items so I really wanted to declutter and keep these simple. Adding pictures and a few decorative accents was all these shelves needed to bring this space back to life.
My client loved this look in a past makeover and wanted it for her space as well. Having these extra stools is a great way to add additional seating to your space. If you are entertaining, you just pull these out and it’s another two seats. I wanted to go with a long mirror here so that it made the walls seems taller and fill in the space.
If you know me, you know I love the X detailing on furniture. It’s one of my favorite looks and this coffee table is perfection.
Remember my book hack? Covering books that don’t go with your space and don’t get used is a super inexpensive way to decorate. Instead of spending a ton of money on books, wrap in craft paper to go with your space.
I love abstract prints. As I tell my clients, art is such a personal item. You have to love the art that gets put into your room. I could put something there that jives with my aesthetic and style but you must love it as well because it’s in your home. I really try to always tell people to stay patient because artwork can take a while to find the right fit for a space. This piece was made for this room.
Ok, Target came out with a new line and this woven basket from there has me drooling. It’s the perfect size, quality, and look needed to toss blankets and throws in. It comes in a few colors and I highly recommend it!!
I hope you guys enjoyed this living room makeover today! It’s one of my favorites! Stay tuned because next week I’m doing my first Giveaway to celebrate my one year of blogging!
