Can you even believe I’m about to talk about New Years Eve?! These last few weeks have been an absolute whirlwind. I’m one of those people who as I’m sure you can tell loves Christmas, so when it’s over I go into a little sulking phase and upset that it’s all over just like that. Then almost immediately after that, I go into a depression at the thought of having to take down every single decoration, put it all away and then clean my house. It’s exhausting. I love putting up all the decoration while I have Christmas music blaring and getting into the Christmas spirit. Come take down, I’m usually dressed in all black just chucking items into the million Christmas bins spread throughout my house. I’m now so looking forward to the New Year where I can organize, work on some decorating projects in my home, as well as a few outside ones I’m currently working on. While we have a little transition week into the new year where my house is staring to unravel and I have yet to take down a single decoration, I thought I’d share a fun little DIY champagne shot glass recipe. This is a super quick fun little project that would be awesome if you were hosting a party, or to take to a party, etc.. I love that you can make these ahead so you aren’t stressing right before the ball drops.
These cups are actually mini red solo cups that I wanted to jazz up to go with the new years theme. You can find clear plastic shot glasses, but I think these are just perfect for any type of NYE celebration. You could also you Dixie cups too. I coated all of them in modge podge and adorned them with a ton of glitter. I let them dry then did another coat just to have all the areas covered. DIY Done!
I sprinkled a little decorative sugar on the top of each to give them an extra little “Sparkle.” The simple little banner I made can be downloaded at the end of the post.
I have a hard time spending money on the overprized New Years Eve decorations that are out there that I always like to make something myself instead of spending a ton of money. These are inexpensive plain kids party hats that I dressed up using a sticker I made. You can download the sticker template below as well.
These are the items you need for the DIY Solo cups, which is so simple!
And these are the items you need for the Champagne Jell-O Shots! You also need boiling hot water. Recipe is right below!
I hope you enjoyed and found a little hint of inspiration for your New Years Eve celebration. Thank you everyone for your support over the last few months. This has been a really fun outlet and I’m loving all the feedback I’m getting when I’m seeing people out. I appreciate your support. Wishing you a New Year filled with joy, peace and happiness to you and your family.
